The next open session of our flagship course will be announced here and through common media.  Until then,  you are welcome to make an expression of interest.

Additional in-house sessions can be delivered upon request.  Such a session can be combined with a well data audit or other well data related project.

Exclusive to Well Data QA:

Well Data Acquisition and Quality Control

Overview:

This hands-on workshop will teach you to acquire better quality fit-for-purpose well data (QA), thoroughly verify incoming data (QC), recognize sources of errors in measurements and exploitation, and manage the uncertainties associated with non-quality data.

The main objectives of this course are to understand and become confident with:

This is a practical course, intended to familiarise the participants with the challenges of working with data that are often of variable quality, of different vintages, acquired by different data acquisition companies, using different conveyance modes, in increasingly challenging well environments: deviated wells, multilaterals, unconventional reservoirs, unusual mud systems, etc.  The latest technologies will be covered, as well as common current and legacy tools.

Upon completion, participants should possess a greater appreciation for the collection, exploitation and management of well data within their organization, and be able to define and implement appropriate well data quality control and improvement initiatives.  Data producers such as geoscientists and interpreters will produce more effective audit trails.  By becoming more aware and confident generators, users or managers of well data, you will become a more effective and valuable professional.

Designed for:

Professionals who plan, acquire, exploit, and manage well data, from wellsite to office to archives.  These include: Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Petrophysicists, Data Management Professionals responsible for well data, Data Acquisition Engineers, Geophysicists, Operations, Geotechnical and support personnel.

He grew up in France, holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Stanford University and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and is an active member of SPE, SPWLA, SCA, FESAus, EAGE and PPDM.

Pre-requisites:

While there is no mandatory pre-requisite for this course, participants would benefit from a prior experience of working with well data and electric logs.  Brief reviews of the essential concepts will be covered..
