- 25-27-Oct: Well Data QA participated in the SPE Asia-Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition in Perth, Australia, and presented a paper on “Demystifying Log Quality Control”, authored by Martin Storey (SPE-182313).
- 13-14-Sep: Well Data QA participated in the Good Oil Conference in Perth, Australia.
- 29-31-Aug: Well Data QA participated in the SPWLA Regional Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, and presented a paper at the New Technology Forum on “Significant Increments Towards Quality-Assured Input Data”, authored by Martin Storey.
- 4-Aug: Well Data QA participated in the PPDM Annual Symposium in Perth and presented a paper on “Rules in Practice”, co-authored by Martin Storey and Pyay Chan of Well Data QA, and Dave Fisher of PPDM, and a paper on “The Value of Standards”, authored by Martin Storey.
- 28-Jun:Well Data QA was the featured speaker at the SPE Monthly meeting in Perth, and spoke on “Trends in Well Depth Errors”, co-authored by Martin Storey and Harald Bolt of ICT Europe.
- April-August:Well Data QA fully specified and executed a plan for the management of a large heterogenous set of well data, including digital data on a server, on external peripherals, on CDs and DVDs, on DTL cartridges, and in a large number of archival boxes of hard copy documents. The client expressed strong satisfaction with the work.
- 25-27-Apr: Well Data QA participated in the EAGE Workshop on Velocities: Reducing Uncertainties in Depths and presented a paper on “Trends in Well Depth Errors”, co-authored by Martin Storey and Harald Bolt of ICT Europe, as well as a poster on “Using Wireline Depth To Arrive At Along Hole Depth Uncertainty”, co-authored by Harald Bolt and Martin Storey.
- 22-24-Feb: Well Data QA participated in the SPE Workshop on Maximising Asset Value through Data Science and Analytics in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our Director Martin Storey facilitated the poster and breakout sessions and presented a poster on the use of image logs for borehole failure analysis.
2015
- During the year, the course “Well Data Acquisition and Quality Control” was delivered three times as an open course in Australia, and the 5-day course “Petrophysical Data Uncertainty Analysis” was prepared for in-house delivery to a large operator in the Middle East in September.
- 20-Feb: A Munch-and-Learn event on how to Start with Good Density and Sonic Logs was held in Perth, Western Australia, in partnership with SuperSonic Geophysical.
Martin Storey of Well Data QA spoke on Essential QC/QA for Density Logs, and Marek Kozak of SuperSonic Geophysical spoke on Modern LWD and Borehole Acoustic Tools.
